Wine shipping laws are constantly changing due to regulations in particular states. Your online order will be accepted by our system and you will receive an auto-confirmation of your order. However, if your state has recently changed regulations and wine shipments are no longer permitted, a Porthos customer service representative will contact you directly to discuss alternate options. Because wine bottles weigh 3 - 4 pounds, shipping rates may seem higher compared to books, clothes or other items you've ordered over the internet. Shipping charges are not a source of profit for our company as these prices below represent actual UPS charges to Porthos + the cost of protective inserts to secure your wine during shipping. Most shipments will be sent via UPS or FedEx ground which takes 5 7 business days to arrive at your destination once it leaves our shipping department.
Damage and Weather
Porthos guarantees that all bottles are shipped from our facility in the California wine country in pristine condition. Porthos cannot be responsible for damage caused to wine (including leakage or popped corks due to weather conditions) during the shipping process. UPS (or FedEx) will often replace lost or damaged items, except in cases of weather-related damage. If your preferred shipping destination is experiencing extreme weather conditions, we suggest you consider storing your wine in our temperature-controlled facility until more favorable weather makes safe shipping possible.

By submitting an order to Porthos Wine Ventures, Inc. you are also submitting that you are 21 years of age and legally able to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages. Wines may be delivered to persons of 21 years of age or older only. You will be asked to provide positive ID by the shipper or carrier. Porthos is not responsible for the return of shipments due to lack of positive ID, and return shipping charges are your responsibility. All wine is sold in the state of California, and the title passes to the buyer in California. Porthos makes no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import wine into any state outside of California. By placing an order with us, you are stating to us that you are in compliance with your local laws governing alcoholic beverages.
