Winery Notes: “It is no secret we like to hold onto our wines a bit longer than most. Four years in new French oak, one year in bottle, and a lot of patience truly makes this wine something unique. Our Dark Matter Zinfandel is a perfect pairing for this year's Thanksgiving gathering. The palate and the aromas of this vintage transports you straight to the kitchen with layers of baking spices of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and hints of black, pink, and white peppercorn. As the wine continues to evolve in the glass, a homemade pie comes to mind with mouthwatering flavors of baked strawberry, rhubarb, raspberry, and cherry. This dynamic Zinfandel also showcases notes of roasted coffee beans, chocolate mousse, and a hint of vanilla. Although big and bold, our Dark Matter Zinfandel is well balanced with bright, vibrant acid and soft, silky tannins. We recommend opening a bottle to share at Thanksgiving alongside a turkey or roast.”
